Redemption ch 70 part 2

At St. Ann-Carly’s funeral, Michael and Lucas struggled to pretend Carly and the girls were dead when Michael went to speak. “My mom wasn’t perfect; a lot of people in this town hated her, and I understand she caused a lot of damage when she first came here. She destroyed my biological father, AJ. We would have had a relationship when I was little if it weren’t for my mother, Sonny, and Jason,” Michael said. He sat down as Lucas stood up. “Yes, my sister isn’t perfect; I should know what she was capable of for what she did to my parents’ marriage, but they were already broken after BJ's death. Our mother forgave Carly, and she wasn’t perfect either. She gave Carly a second chance, and I did too, and I don’t regret it,” Lucas said, sitting down as AJ got up. Even though he knew the truth about Carly, he didn’t care that she was still alive. “Carly and I have a complicated history, mostly a bad one. She’s the reason my son was taken away. I was sober when we dated, then she drugged me and threw me into a laundry cart—that was the beginning of my sobriety. Yes, I was an alcoholic, but I believe my son would have been better off with me than with a mobster father like me, who was the reason Michael killed someone and was shot at when he was little,” AJ said as Carly entered. “I know you don’t ever forgive me deep down,” Carly yelled. “You’re alive! I know nothing could kill you,” Ned said. “Unfortunately, it can’t,” Skye added. “Yes, I’m alive; we all are,” Carly said as the girls and Jax came in. Sasha was outside the church about to go in when Nina arrived. “Sasha,” Nina said. “Mother, I’m so glad you’re not dead. When Michael told me I was so happy it was fake. I didn’t know how this all happened. I just wanted Avery to see Donna, and then next thing I knew, Carly told me that Lorenzo wanted her dead,” Nina said. Lila Rae approached. “My father wanted her dead because she shot him in cold blood,” Lila Rae said. Carly came outside with her family. “You are the reason my father is dead! You’re alive for now, but I’d watch it. I’m not giving up my father's business, and everyone who hurt him isn’t going to get away with it,” Lila Rae said. ‘I understand your feelings, but your father wasn’t perfect either—neither was Sonny, whom you always married or covered for,” Lila Rae added. Johnny approached. “Lila Rae,” Johnny said. “Johnny, you back?” “Yes, and I’m now running things in this town. Lila Rae, why don’t we go talk,” Johnny said. “Yes, why not?” Lila Rae replied, and they left. “This isn’t good at all,” Ned said. “Who is he?” AJ asked. “A mob boss’s son,” Ned replied.
