Glamor and Luxury part 2 ch 13”
At Cynthia/Phillip—Cynthia was in the living room wearing her robe. It was late, and she was upset about her phone call with Monica. She knew that Jill wasn't to be trusted. When Cynthia picked up the phone and called Frida, she said, “Frida, I know it's late. Please call me back. It's Jill trying to push us out of the company.” She hung up as Phillip came in wearing his robe. “Cynthia, it's late. What's going on?” Phillip asked. “It's work. I'm sorry I woke you,” she replied. “It's okay. We need to talk. Why don't I pour us a drink?” Phillip asked. “Sure,” Cynthia said. Phillip poured them each a drink and handed one to Cynthia. “We need to talk about Chanel and this pregnancy. I can't believe we're going to be grandparents. I never want our daughter to get hurt. You blame me, don't you?” Cynthia asked. “If you and Chanel never had that fight and she didn't go to Paris for work, she wouldn't be hurt! But now we have to deal with it!” Phillip yelled. “Do you have some kind of plan?” Cynthia asked. “Yes. We'll raise this baby as ours. Chanel is too young to raise it,” he replied. “Do you really think Chanel wants to give up her baby to us? We can talk to her. It's for the best.” “Phillip, this is crazy. I don't know,” she said. “You don't want this? I never really wanted to be a mother, you know that!” Cynthia yelled.
Upstairs, Vivienne sat there listening to their fight, recalling her childhood and feeling hurt by their arguments. “Thanks, Mother. We feel the same way about you,” Vivienne said to herself.
